Origin/Habitat: Commonly grow as bushes in Hawaii and Malaysia, also in abandoned and ample size field in Thailand
Details: It’s a shrub that can reach up to 2 metres high. The young trunk contains short and compact hair. The leaves are arranged in opposite order, simple shaped and oval shaped. The surface of the leaves is shiny with dark green in colour. The flower is in pink with 5 petals. The fruit is small with 1.3cm in diameter, dark purple in colour with sweet and nice smell of the fruit.
Uses: In Malaysia, the Kadazan Dusun people boil the roots for medication purpose to heal bloody vomit. The fruit is safe to be eaten
